Patrick Roach
I moved to Fairbanks in 1996, not long after finishing high school. I graduated from UAF in 2005. I went through the UAS teaching degree program and then taught public high school for a decade in Sitka, Juneau and Hooper Bay. I decided on a mid-life career change seven years ago and became a lawyer. I’ve been a Fairbanks Public Defender for the last four years. I’ve worn a few other hats over the years in Alaska: commercial fishing, construction, grill cooking in a couple of restaurants, working in a tire shop, and managing for NANA. Those opportunities let me see what’s so great and diverse about the Interior and Alaska.
