PRIORITIES
- Grow our Economy & Keep Families in the Borough
- Fund Education
- Focus on Fiscal Responsibility
- Protect our Parks, Libraries, and Other Facilities
Our Borough faces serious economic challenges, as state and federal funding shrinks. We need leaders that can work together to find solutions and won’t waste time fighting over issues that have nothing to do with Borough business.
We must fund education. We cannot balance the budget on the backs of students and teachers. We must demand the State fund schools, while also securing stable Borough funding for education. We can’t keep funding from savings.
That will take economic development. I know our workforce – I worked from dishwasher to a manager for the NANA Corporation. My law school studies focused on contract and business law. We need innovative ways to spur our economy, like more quality housing, programs to keep university students and servicemembers in our communities long-term, further downtown public-private partnerships to revitalize the business district, zoning projects to open up development, and more affordable energy.
A strong community also has strong libraries, parks and recreational facilities. Families will not stay if we cut all the things that make the Interior a great place to live. I will protect our services and facilities whenever possible and will fight to find ways to do so.
